Vision - Scholarship for Studies in Sweden

What you get

You will receive a one-off payment of 3,000 SEK (about 265 EUR) towards your studies in Sweden. This is a grant that is not tied to any specific costs and is paid out as a one-off sum as soon as you provide proof of your course. The money comes from Vision, the Swedish trade union for employees and managers in local authorities, regional authorities, the Church and private social enterprises. The winners are selected by lottery from all applications that meet the criteria; therefore, your grades do not play a role.

Who can apply

• Union membership: You are a member of Vision. Students can join free of charge throughout their studies.
• Where you study: You are studying in Sweden. You are currently studying or finished your studies in 2026.
• Subject: Your studies are related to your profession, your trade union activities or your management responsibilities.
• Level: You are studying at a university or a university of applied sciences, not at a secondary school.
• No recent award: You have not received a Vision scholarship in the last two years.
• Nationality: All nationalities can apply.

How to apply

Applications must be submitted via the Vision website. The current application round has closed. The next application window opens on 1 January 2027. The draw will take place on or before 31 May, after which each applicant will be notified of the result.

How realistic are your chances?

Winners are selected by lottery and not on the basis of merit; therefore, a good track record neither helps nor hinders your chances. Your chances depend solely on how many eligible people apply. Eligibility is restricted to Vision members studying a work-related, trade union-related or management-related subject in Sweden, which narrows down the pool of applicants. If you meet all the criteria and apply within the specified timeframe, you stand a good chance.
