About this scholarship
What you get
You will receive a one-off grant for a short study visit to Denmark. The amount per person is not published. In 2024, four grants totalling 29,000 DKK (approximately 3,900 EUR) were awarded, which corresponds to an average of around 7,250 DKK (approximately 970 EUR) per person. You may use the funds for an exchange programme, a research stay, a trip to source materials, or a training course or work placement in Denmark as part of vocational training. The funds come from the Danish ‘William og Hugo Evers Fond’ and are awarded through the Swedish-Danish Cultural Foundation.
Who can apply
- Where you study: You are studying at a higher education institution in Sweden, either on a degree programme or as a PhD student, or you are undertaking vocational training.
- Where you go: Your study placement, training programme or work placement is taking place in Denmark.
- Length of stay: This is intended to fund short stays, not a full degree programme abroad.
- Field of study: Any topic is fine.
- Your plan: You have a specific plan, such as an exchange programme, a research placement or a research trip related to your studies.
How to apply
Send a free-form application by email. Include a CV or portfolio, a description of your project and a budget. The application window runs from early February to 7 April each year. You hear back in the autumn.
How realistic are your chances?
This is a small, highly targeted funding scheme. Only a handful of grants are awarded each year, and you must be studying in Sweden and submit a concrete plan for a stay in Denmark. This keeps the number of applicants small. If your project clearly aligns with the Swedish-Danish focus and you submit a clear plan and a cost estimate, your chances are quite good. The amounts are modest and the number of places is limited.
