About this scholarship
What you get
You will receive up to about 2,300 EUR per year (up to £2,000). The grant will be renewed each year of your degree programme, provided you continue to meet the criteria. Over a three-year LLB degree programme, this amounts to around 6,900 EUR. The funding is provided by the School of Law at Queen Mary University of London (QMUL).
Who can apply
- Degree: You are in the first year of a three- or four-year LLB degree (Bachelor’s degree in Law) at QMUL.
- Financial need: According to Student Finance England’s assessment, your household income is 25,000 GBP or less per year.
- Background: You come from a group that is under-represented at the university (a ‘Widening Participation’ background), as verified by the university’s ‘Widening Participation’ team.
- Grades: You achieved excellent results in the qualifications you completed prior to your degree at QMUL.
- Nationality: All nationalities can apply.
How to apply
Applications must be submitted via the online application form. The application deadline is Sunday, 18 January 2026, at 23:59. Selection is based on your UCAS application, your academic record to date, your potential and a personal statement that you will write in the form.
How realistic are your chances?
This scholarship has very strict eligibility criteria. You must be in your first year of a law degree at a specific university, meet a set income threshold and come from an under-represented group. As a result, the pool of eligible applicants is small compared to open scholarships. If you clearly meet these criteria and can provide proof of income, your chances are good.
