About this scholarship
The Conygar Opportunity Scholarship
You get a one-off payment of about 3,450 EUR (£3,000) to help fund your first year of a business degree at Middlesex University in London. Two of these awards were given each year. The money came from a London property firm run by a former Middlesex graduate. It aimed to open the door to university for students whose families cannot easily support them.
Who can apply
- Level: You are in your first year of an undergraduate degree.
- Subject: You study a business course at the Middlesex University Business School.
- First in the family: You are the first person in your family to go to university.
- Fees: You pay UK ("home") tuition fees.
- Potential: You can show you have what it takes to do well on your course.
How to apply
First you need an offer of a place on your course. Then you fill in the scholarship form and write a short statement explaining why you qualify. The deadline was 31 July.
How realistic are your chances?
This award is aimed narrowly: one university, first-year business students only, and only those who are the first in their family to study. That keeps the applicant pool small, so a well-matched student had a fair shot. But only two awards were given each year, so a clear, honest statement of your background and potential mattered.
