About this scholarship
The Moffat Scholarship Awards
You will receive a one-off payment of up to about 4,200 EUR (up to £3,600) to cover fees and living costs. You will study Tourism and Event Management at Glasgow Caledonian University (GCU) in Glasgow, Scotland. You will also have the opportunity to gain practical work experience at the Moffat Centre, GCU’s research centre for tourism and travel. The scholarship is funded by the Moffat Charitable Trust, which has awarded more than £1.4 million to over 350 GCU students since 1998.
Who can apply
- University: You’re studying at Glasgow Caledonian University in Glasgow.
- Course: You are studying on the Master’s programme in ‘International Tourism and Events Management’ or on the Bachelor’s programme in the same subject.
- Level: Both Bachelor’s and Master’s students are eligible to apply.
- Career goal: You would like to work in the travel, tourism or events sector.
- Nationality: Any nationality can apply.
How to apply
Applications are made online via the GCU. The link to the application form appears on the scholarships page every year as soon as the application round begins.
How realistic are your chances?
This funding is very specific: you must already be enrolled at GCU and be studying a specific degree programme in the field of tourism and event management. As a result, the pool of eligible applicants is quite small compared to open scholarships. If you meet these criteria and can demonstrate a genuine commitment to a career in the travel, tourism or events sector, your chances are good. Keep an eye on the scholarships page and apply as soon as the application round opens.
