About this scholarship
Peter J. Buckley Achievement Scholarship
If you start your business studies degree at the University of Leeds in September 2026, you will receive a one-off payment of about 2,340 EUR (£2,000). You can use this either as a reduction on your tuition fees or as cash to help cover your living costs. The award is provided by Leeds University Business School and recognises outstanding A-level results (or equivalent).
Who can apply
- Degree: In September 2026, you will begin a full-time bachelor’s degree programme in one of the following three courses: International Business, International Business and Finance, or International Business and Marketing.
- Where you study: University of Leeds in the United Kingdom.
- Fees: You pay the UK tuition fees and fund your studies yourself.
- Nationality: You are a student from the UK.
- Grades: You meet the entry requirements, for example with A*A*A at A-level, 18 marks in Higher Level subjects in the International Baccalaureate, AA in the Scottish Advanced Highers (or four A grades in Higher) or D*D*D* in the BTEC Extended National Diploma.
- Other awards: You are not also a recipient of the Business School’s Dean’s Scholarship for Outstanding Achievement.
How to apply
There is no separate application form. Apply for one of the three degree programmes by 14 January 2026 to secure a place. List Leeds as your first choice and achieve the required grades. The Admissions Office will then confirm the scholarship by 1 September 2026.
How realistic are your chances?
You are not applying for a fixed number of places. Anyone who meets the criteria is automatically eligible. The real hurdle is the high entry requirement (A*A*A or equivalent) and submitting your application by the deadline in January. If you are a self-funded student from the UK aiming to study one of these three degree programmes and you achieve these grades, the funding is yours.
