About this scholarship
What the Quita Shivas Athletics Sports Scholarship offers
You will receive about 153 EUR to support your studies at University of Aberdeen in Scotland for up to 60 months. The scholarship is aimed at student athletes, to enable you to train and take part in competitions whilst you are studying. It is funded by the University of Aberdeen Development Trust. The Trust was established in memory of Quita Shivas, a medical graduate from Aberdeen who competed for Great Britain in the sprint events at the 1952 Olympic Games.
Who can apply
- University: You’re studying at the University of Aberdeen.
- Sport: You take part in athletics, such as sprinting, hurdling or field events.
- Field of study: Any topic is fine.
- Nationality: You’re from the United Kingdom.
How to apply
Apply via the University of Aberdeen Development Trust. The application deadline is 21 April.
How realistic are your chances?
This scholarship is very narrowly defined. You must be studying at a specific university and competing in athletics, meaning that only a few people meet the criteria. If you’re studying at the University of Aberdeen as a track and field athlete and have genuine sporting ambitions, your chances are good. As this is a named scholarship with a limited number of places, a track record of competitive results is an advantage.
