About this scholarship
What you get
You will receive a scholarship of up to about 14,500 EUR (£12,500) towards the tuition fees for the full-time MBA at Aston University in Birmingham. The MBA programme lasts one year. The scholarship is awarded in various tiers: The ‘Gold’ and ‘Aston 2030’ tiers are worth approximately 14,500 EUR (£12,500), whilst the ‘Silver’ tier is worth approximately 7,500 EUR (£6,500). If you are a graduate of Aston University, you can also apply for a separate 20% loyalty discount on tuition fees. You can only receive one MBA scholarship.
Who can apply
- Degree you study: You are applying for the full-time MBA at Aston Business School.
- Nationality: Any nationality can apply.
- Field: The MBA is a degree programme in general management that is open to graduates from all disciplines.
- Two of three core criteria: You must meet at least two of the following three criteria: a very good first-cycle degree (Upper Second Class / 2:1 or equivalent), at least seven years’ relevant leadership experience, and a mindset that brings significant added value to the MBA cohort.
- What the top awards reward: The Gold Award is presented to a number of outstanding candidates who demonstrate leadership qualities, entrepreneurial spirit and a commitment to equality and sustainability. The Silver Award recognises proven business success and clear motivation. To be eligible for the Aston 2030 Awards, candidates must have at least seven years’ demonstrable experience in the fields of diversity and inclusion, in building a business or in transforming an organisation.
How to apply
There is no separate scholarship application form. By applying for the MBA, you are simultaneously applying for the scholarship. Once you have submitted your application, you will be invited to an MBA interview, during which your suitability for the scholarship will also be assessed. The interviewers will then put forward candidates to a panel, which makes the final decision. If you are offered a scholarship, you must accept it by the specified response deadline in order to receive it.
How realistic are your chances?
These scholarships are limited in number and are awarded on a competitive basis. The highest tiers, ‘Gold’ and ‘Aston 2030’, are awarded to a small number of outstanding applicants who can demonstrate long-standing leadership experience or entrepreneurial influence. As the scholarship is integrated into the MBA selection process, a compelling application and a convincing interview are of crucial importance. If you clearly meet at least two of the three core criteria and can demonstrate genuine leadership achievements, the ‘Silver’ tier in particular is a realistic goal.
