You will receive funding to carry out a short summer research project as a Bachelor’s student in collaboration with an academic supervisor at the University of Plymouth in the United Kingdom. According to reports, previous grant amounts were around 3,000 pounds, but this figure has not been officially confirmed and may vary. A funded project usually runs over the summer, i.e. for around three to four months. The University of Plymouth awards the grant to enable Bachelor’s students to gain practical research experience before completing their degree. A previous project focused on optimising the charging process for electric boats.

This is an internal Plymouth award for a specific research project, so you will only be competing against other Bachelor’s students at Plymouth, rather than at national level. As the award supports individual supervised projects, your chances of success depend on finding a suitable supervisor and a suitable project. If you have this support, the pool of applicants is small and your prospects are good.
