What the Egerton Coghill Landscape Prize gives you

For the best small landscape painting, you will receive a one-off cash prize of about 410 EUR (around £350). This is an art prize organised annually by the University of Oxford through its Ruskin School of Art. As it can only be won once, it is a competition prize and not a monthly grant.

Who can apply

• Where you study: You are studying at the University of Oxford.
• Enrolment: Upon enrolment, you are registered for any Oxford degree, diploma or certificate.
• Subject: Every field of study, not just fine art.
• Nationality: Any nationality can apply.
• Your entry: You must submit a landscape painting no larger than four square feet (approximately 0.37 m²), sent unframed. The painting must have been created within the twelve months prior to the closing date for entries, and you must sign a declaration confirming this.
• One entry per year: You may only submit one painting per year. If you have already won, you cannot enter again.

How to apply

Send your unframed painting, together with a statement signed by you stating when you painted it, to the Head of the Ruskin School of Art in Oxford. The deadline is the Friday of the fourth week of the Trinity term, usually in April or May. The jury will only award the prize if a submitted work meets the requirements.
