Slade School of Fine Art, University College London - The Herbert Seaborn Memorial Scholarship 

Benefit

You will receive a one-off award of about 1,150 EUR (£1,000). The Slade School of Fine Art, which is part of University College London (UCL), awards this prize to one student once a year. This is a prize for outstanding academic achievement and not a means-tested scholarship, so there is no means test.

Eligibility

• Where you study: You are enrolled at the Slade School of Fine Art at UCL in London.
• Level: You are a Bachelor’s student (BA/BFA) or a Master’s student (MA/MFA).
• Timing: You are now starting your final year of study.
• Field: You study Fine Art.
• Nationality: Any nationality can apply.
• Selection basis: You will be selected on the basis of your academic achievements; financial need is not a requirement.

How to apply

You do not need to submit a separate application. The Slade selects the winner from among its own students through a nomination process. You should only take further action once the school has contacted you directly and asked you to do so.

How realistic are your chances?

This prize is highly selective: only final-year students at the Slade School of Fine Art are eligible, and only one winner is chosen each year. You cannot apply for it yourself, as the college makes its decision based on nominations. If your work stands out particularly within your year group, you have a real chance of winning, but as there is only one prize, the competition is fierce.
