What you get

You will receive 15% off your tuition fees if you have a degree from the University of Glasgow and are returning to study a new Master’s or research programme. This is a reduction on your tuition fees, not a monthly scholarship or a lump-sum payment. It applies to all Master’s programmes (PGT) and research programmes (PGR) across the entire University, including all degrees offered by the Adam Smith Business School. You can study either full-time or part-time.

Who can apply

• Your link to Glasgow: You have obtained a degree from the University of Glasgow, or have completed a study abroad programme, an international summer school or an Erasmus exchange there. If you studied through an external organisation, a partner university or as part of a joint degree programme, you are not eligible to participate.
• New programme: You are commencing a full-time Master’s degree programme (PGT) or a research degree programme (PGR). Diploma and certificate courses, continuing professional development (CPD, PGDE), international Master’s programmes and Erasmus Mundus programmes, as well as online or distance-learning programmes, are not taken into account.
• How you pay: You are responsible for covering the costs of your studies yourself. If an external sponsor covers your fees in full, the discount will no longer apply.
• Nationality: Applicants of all nationalities are welcome to apply, including students from the UK and from abroad.
• Field of study: Open to all eligible students across the entire university.
• Combining awards: You can combine this scholarship with most other university scholarships. However, it cannot be combined with a partnership discount or a grant that covers 100% of your fees.

How to apply

No separate application is required. The discount will be applied automatically when you enrol on your degree programme, provided you meet the eligibility criteria.

How realistic are your chances?

This is not a competitive scholarship. Rather, it is an automatic fee reduction for anyone who meets the eligibility criteria. If you graduated from Glasgow or completed an exchange programme there, are self-funding the costs of an eligible Master’s or research degree programme, and are not receiving full funding, you will be eligible for this reduction. You should, above all, check whether your new programme is eligible, as diploma, online and joint-degree programmes are excluded.
