Yusuf Ali Scholarship (MA Human Rights)

You will receive your full tuition fees paid for the ‘Human Rights’ Master’s programme, which you will complete via distance learning from home. This covers your enrolment fee, module fees and examination fees for the entire course. Only one scholarship is awarded each year. It is funded by the Yusuf Ali Fund, which was established in 1956 and is administered by the Institute of Commonwealth Studies at the University of London. The costs of a local study or examination centre, as well as your study materials, are not included.

Who can apply

• Where you live: You live in India, Pakistan or Bangladesh.
• Programme offer: You have already been offered a place on the ‘Human Rights’ Master’s programme via distance learning at the University of London Worldwide.
• Field: This scholarship is intended solely to fund the ‘Human Rights’ Master’s programme.
• Track record: You have an excellent academic record and relevant professional experience.
• Financial need: You can prove that you need the money for your studies.
• Not already enrolled: You haven't started the programme yet.
• Other funding: You may combine it with external funding, but not with other University of London scholarships.

How to apply

First, apply for a place on the ‘Human Rights’ Master’s programme and secure your place. Then complete the scholarship application form and email it, together with your up-to-date CV, to the Institute of Commonwealth Studies. The application deadline for the September intake is 1 May; please ensure you apply in good time so that you receive your offer of admission before this date.

How realistic are your chances?

As only one scholarship is awarded each year, competition is fierce. However, the strict eligibility criteria narrow down the pool of applicants: you must be resident in India, Pakistan or Bangladesh, have already been admitted to this specific Master’s programme, and demonstrate financial need. If you clearly meet all these criteria and can also demonstrate good grades and professional experience, you stand a real chance.
