Excellence and High Achievement Scholarships

You get a cash award paid straight to you over three years of your degree at the University of Bedfordshire, with no separate application needed. The size depends on your entry grades. The Excellence Scholarship pays £7,500 over three years (about 8,800 EUR), roughly £2,500 (about 2,950 EUR) each year. The High Achievement Scholarship pays £1,500 over three years (about 1,760 EUR), roughly £500 (about 590 EUR) each year. Each year the money arrives in two instalments, usually in December and February. With the Excellence Scholarship, you also help the university's recruitment team at a couple of Open Days or Offer-Holder Days in your first two years. You are paid for this, or you can agree an alternative such as school visits or blog posts.

Who can apply

• Degree: You start a full-time on-campus bachelor's degree (BA, BSc, BEng, LLB or similar) at the University of Bedfordshire in September 2026 for the 2026/27 year.
• Starting point: You begin in the first year of the degree (Level 4). Foundation-year students and people joining directly in year 2 or 3 do not qualify.
• Fee status: You are a UK home student paying the maximum tuition fee of £9,790. This still counts if a student loan covers your fees.
• Field of study: Open to all subjects.
• Grades for the Excellence Scholarship: You reach 128 UCAS points in one sitting, for example ABB at A Level, or the equivalent through IB, Access to Higher Education, BTEC, UAL Diploma or T Levels.
• Grades for the High Achievement Scholarship: You reach at least 120 UCAS points from any mix of qualifications in the UCAS Tariff.

How to apply

There is nothing to apply for. Both scholarships are awarded automatically to every eligible student once their grades are confirmed. There is no interview and no selection panel.

How realistic are your chances?

These awards are not competitive. If you meet the grade threshold and the fee-status rules, you receive the money automatically. The only real question is whether your entry points clear 120 for the High Achievement award or 128 for the Excellence award. You must be a UK home student on a first-year on-campus degree, so foundation-year and international applicants miss out.
