The scholarship runs for one academic year (12 months). It is awarded by the University of Bedfordshire in the United Kingdom, which offers it to talented athletes across all sports.
Who can apply
- University: You are studying on a full-time degree programme at the University of Bedfordshire or have been offered a place there.
- Degree level: You are a student on an undergraduate or postgraduate programme.
- Sport level: You take part in competitions at district, regional or higher level. This must have been the case in the last 12 months, or you must start doing so in the coming season.
- Field of study: Any subject. You don’t have to take a PE class.
- Nationality: All nationalities. Students from Germany, the EU and other countries are welcome to apply.
How to apply
Apply online by 31 October using the university’s central sports scholarship application form. The application deadline for 2026/27 is now open. You may only apply for one merit-based scholarship per academic year. Meeting the criteria does not guarantee that you will be awarded the scholarship.
How realistic are your chances?
As this is one of seven sports scholarship packages offered by a single university, the group of applicants is restricted to students from Bedfordshire who compete at district or regional level. If you meet these academic and sporting requirements, your chances are good. The university points out that meeting the criteria does not guarantee the award of a scholarship; therefore, a convincing, documented track record of competition results is important.
