About this scholarship
Challenger Scholarship at the University of Bath
You will receive approximately 5,800 EUR (5,000 GBP) per academic year for your Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration at the University of Bath. This amount will be paid to you for each academic year at the university, but not during the placement years when you are working in a company as part of your degree programme. The money comes from an anonymous former student of the University of Bath and helps to cover the costs of studying for students from low-income households.
Who can apply
- Course: You are studying Business Administration (BSc) at the University of Bath.
- Level: This is your first degree. You have not yet obtained a degree with honours.
- Enrolment: You are a British student studying full-time.
- Financial need: According to Student Finance’s assessment, your household income is 42,611 GBP or less.
- Grades: You must meet very high entry requirements, such as an ‘AAB’ grade in A-levels or an equivalent qualification.
- No double funding: You may not, at the same time, receive any other scholarship from the University of Bath, any student grant or any funding under the National Scholarship Programme.
Some factors improve your chances, but are not essential: you come from a region where few people go to university; you attend a school or sixth-form college with below-average results; you have been in the care of child and youth welfare services; or you receive means-tested state social benefits.
How to apply
You will be automatically considered on the basis of your household income and your academic results. You will usually be asked to submit a short supporting letter via the ‘Bath Applicant Tracker’ in May.
How realistic are your chances?
This scholarship is highly selective: only business management students at Bath who meet the income threshold and the academic requirements are eligible to apply, so the pool of applicants is small. If you clearly meet these criteria, your chances are good. The only detailed information available is from a previous academic year; you should therefore check whether the scholarship is still being awarded before counting on it.
