About this scholarship
MBA Early Bird Scholarships
You will receive a tuition fee discount of up to about 20,000 EUR, which covers up to 50% of the fees for the full-time MBA at Nottingham University Business School in the UK. The discount reduces the amount you have to pay, so you will not receive any cash. The total scholarship pot amounted to over 120,000 GBP, spread across several rounds, and the funding covers the one-year MBA. The name ‘Early Bird’ is a reminder to apply early: applying by the first deadline offered the best chance of securing a place in the scholarship pool.
Who can apply
- Programme: You have been offered a place on the full-time MBA programme in Nottingham.
- Field: Business administration (MBA) only.
- Nationality: Applicants of all nationalities are welcome to apply, including students from the UK, Europe and other countries.
- Funding: You are funding the MBA yourself and have indicated that you would like to be considered for a scholarship.
- Essay: You have written an essay of 500 words on the leadership qualities you would bring to the MBA programme in Nottingham and how this programme would help you to develop as a leader.
- Merit: Selection is based on merit and is assessed on the basis of your grades, your work experience and career history, the quality of your application, and your potential contribution to the group.
How to apply
You submitted a written application by post, including the essay. There were three application deadlines: 28 February, 25 April and 23 May. Applicants who applied earlier had the best chances within the applicant pool.
How realistic are your chances?
Only those who have already been admitted to this MBA programme may apply, which means the pool of applicants remains small. The selection process is, however, highly competitive, as it is based solely on academic and professional achievements. It was important to apply by the first deadline, as the pool of applicants shrank with each round of places filled. A compelling, well-reasoned essay and a clear career path helped applicants stand out from the crowd.
