About this grant / loan

What this funding covers

If you are enrolled on a part-time course at the University of Plymouth in the UK, you can obtain a loan from the UK government to cover your tuition fees. The loan covers the fees shown in this entry as approximately 709 EUR, so you do not need to pay them up front. The University of Plymouth is not the lender. The money comes from the UK’s national student finance system, and this page directs you to it.

This loan is intended solely to cover tuition fees. You will not receive any additional money for rent, food or living expenses. You will repay the loan later, once your income exceeds a certain threshold.

Who can apply

  • Where you study: You are enrolled as a part-time student at the University of Plymouth in the UK.
  • Level: You are following a higher education course, i.e. a degree programme at university level.
  • Subject: Any field of study.
  • Nationality: Any nationality, provided you are eligible for UK student finance.
  • When you started: You started your course on or after 1 September 2012.
  • Alternative for earlier students: If you started your part-time degree programme before this date and your household income was below a specified threshold, you can apply for a grant to cover your tuition fees and study costs instead of a loan.

How to apply

Applications must be submitted via the UK’s national student finance organisation, not via the university. The deadline for this call for applications is 1 September.
