Faculty of Law, University of Oxford - The Roy Goode Scholarship

Benefit

You will receive about 1,150 EUR (£1,000) to cover your fees, which will be paid throughout the entire period for which you are liable to pay tuition fees for your research degree. The award is provided by the Faculty of Law at the University of Oxford. It was funded by Professor Sir Roy Goode, a leading scholar in the field of commercial and financial law.

Eligibility

• Degree: You are undertaking a research degree in law at Oxford, either an MPhil or a DPhil (which is what the doctoral degree is called at Oxford).
• Stage: Whether you’ve only just started or are already well into your degree.
• College: Any college in Oxford is fine.
• Nationality: Open to applicants of all nationalities.

How to apply

There is no separate application process. New students are automatically considered on the basis of the application they submit for their MPhil or DPhil place. This application must be received by Oxford by the deadline in January.

How realistic are your chances?

The pool of applicants is limited: you must already be a law student at the University of Oxford, so the number of eligible applicants is small compared to open scholarships. The award is made as part of the standard admissions process and does not require any additional documentation. If you secure a place at the University of Oxford’s Faculty of Law, your chances of receiving this supplementary scholarship are quite good.
