About this scholarship
What the RW Barnes Educational Fund gives you
You will receive up to about 2,340 EUR (GBP 2,000) per year of study as financial support for your Bachelor’s degree at University of Bath in England. This grant is aimed at students studying engineering, physics or mathematics who are unable to fund their studies entirely themselves. The grant is paid out per academic year, but does not apply to a placement year (a year in which you work in a company as part of your degree). The fund is administered by the Quartet Community Foundation, a charity serving the Bristol and Somerset region.
Who can apply
- University: You are a bachelor’s student at the University of Bath.
- Subject: You are studying engineering, physics or mathematics.
- Where you live: Your home address is within 40 miles of Frome in Somerset, England.
- Money: You are unable to fund your studies entirely yourself.
- Nationality: Any nationality can apply.
How realistic are your chances?
The eligibility criteria for this scholarship are very strict: you must be studying one of three subjects at Bath, live within 40 miles of Frome, and demonstrate that you genuinely require financial support. As a result, the pool of eligible students is small, meaning that only a few people are competing for the scholarship. If you clearly meet these criteria and can demonstrate your financial hardship, your chances are good.
