Social Stipend of the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna

You will receive your tuition fees refunded for a semester that you have already completed. You will receive exactly the amount you paid, provided that no other scholarship body has already reimbursed you. There is no fixed amount. The Academy of Fine Arts Vienna awards this grant to help its own students with their study costs.

Who can apply

• University: You are studying at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna or graduated from there last semester.
• Tuition paid: You paid tuition fees last term.
• No double funding: No other scholarship provider has yet reimbursed this fee, for example the Austrian Student Finance Authority.
• Field of study: Open to all subjects at the Academy.
• Nationality: All nationalities can apply.
• Doctoral students: If your PhD programme requires a thesis agreement in the first year, you must have an approved agreement.

How to apply

Applications are made online via the Academy’s application system. You register once using your student email address. Applications always relate to a semester that has already been completed. For the winter semester, you should apply between 1 April and 15 May (11:00). For the summer term, you should apply between 1 October and 15 November (11:00).

How realistic are your chances?

This is not a competition prize, but a refund of tuition fees. The offer applies exclusively to students at this particular university who have already paid their tuition fees and have not received a refund from any other source. If you meet these clear criteria and submit your application in full and by the deadline, your chances are good. Please pay close attention to the deadline, as late or incomplete applications will be rejected.
