University of Art and Industrial Design in Linz (Linz/Austria) - Support for students

Support for students at the University of Art and Industrial Design Linz

You will receive a one-off grant for a specific project, not a monthly grant (a regular payment over a longer period). The money is earmarked for a specific project: a study trip abroad, an exhibition, a conference, a performance, your bachelor’s, master’s, diploma or doctoral thesis, or a publication. There is no fixed amount. The amount depends on your project and its budget. For publications, up to 1,000 EUR is awarded. Funding is provided by the Friends of the University of Art and Applied Arts Linz, an association founded in 1991 to support the university and its students.

How to apply

You must submit a formal application to the Funding Association, comprising the application form, a portfolio, a project description, a full breakdown of costs and a funding plan. The deadline depends on the amount you are applying for. For grants of up to 1,090 EUR, the deadline is 31 October (winter term) or 31 March (summer term). For higher amounts, the deadline is 15 October or 15 March. A working group reviews your cost breakdown and your funding plan and makes recommendations on who should receive funding.
