Support for internships abroad (University of Graz)

For an internship in Europe, you will receive one-off grant of 300 EUR; for an internship outside Europe, you will receive 400 EUR. This is intended to cover the higher cost of living in your host country. The internship must last for at least one full month and be undertaken on a full-time basis. The funding is provided by the University of Graz through its International Office. You are responsible for finding and organising the placement yourself. It can take place at a company or an organisation (including a university), whether public or private, regardless of size or sector.

Who can apply

• University: You are enrolled on a degree programme at the University of Graz.
• Study phase: You can apply from the first year of your Bachelor’s degree.
• NAWI Graz students: If you are studying a joint degree programme offered by NAWI and the University of Graz, the University of Graz must be your home university.
• Field of study: Open to all degree programmes, but the work placement must be relevant to your course of study.
• Nationality: All nationalities can apply.
• No employment: You are not employed by the University of Graz during your stay abroad.
• No double funding: You will not receive any further mobility funding (funding for a degree or vocational training abroad) from the International Office during the same funding period.
• Proof: You can provide evidence of a confirmed full-time placement.

How to apply

Applications are made online via the ‘Mobility-Online’ database, which you can access via your personal profile on UNIGRAZonline. You can apply at any time of the year, but no later than two months before the start of your placement. Staff at the International Office select applicants based on their motivation, the relevance of the placement to their degree programme, their academic performance and their language skills.

How realistic are your chances?

This scholarship is exclusively for students at the University of Graz who are undertaking a study-related work placement abroad. Consequently, the target group is small and competition is low. If you have a confirmed full-time work placement and meet the eligibility criteria, your chances are good. Make sure to apply well in advance of the two-month application deadline and ensure that the placement is clearly related to your degree programme.
