Province of Walloon Brabant - Province of Walloon Brabant Study Grants

What you get

You will receive a supplement to the study grant that you already receive from the Wallonia-Brussels Federation (FWB), the body responsible for student finance within the French-speaking Community. The province grants you a percentage supplement to this grant. In the year 2022–2023, this supplement amounted to 25% of your FWB grant; the exact amount is set by the province each year. On average, this supplement amounted to approximately 335 EUR per student. The funds come from the Province of Walloon Brabant.

Who can apply

• Where you live: You live (are officially registered) in one of the 27 municipalities in the province of Walloon Brabant.
• Studies: You are enrolled on, or are about to enrol on, a higher education course organised or funded by the Wallonia-Brussels Federation. It does not matter whether this is a short course, a long course or a university degree.
• Federal grant first: You are already receiving a grant from the Wallonia-Brussels Federation. This regional grant is merely a supplement to that, so you cannot apply without it.
• Field of study: All topics are permitted.

How to apply

You must submit two separate applications. First, apply to the Wallonia-Brussels Federation for the federal grant. Then send a separate application for the provincial supplement to the Provincial Education Office (Cellule Projets Transversaux) in Wavre. The deadline is 31 December of the academic year that began in September. In certain cases of hardship, such as the death of a person who supports you financially, a hospital stay of at least 30 consecutive days, or the loss of your main job or that of a person who supports you financially, the deadline may be extended until 30 April.
