Université de Liège - Grants for Short-Term Doctoral Training in Flanders

What you get

You will receive a one-off grant of lump sum of up to 2,000 EUR to attend a PhD course or a training programme lasting no more than 1 weeks. The grant is awarded by the University of Liège (ULiège). It covers your registration fees, your return travel costs and your accommodation costs up to 100 EUR per day. You must submit all expenses along with supporting documents.

Who can apply

• Who you are: You are enrolled as a PhD student at the University of Liège.
• Where you go: The training course takes place at an institution in Flanders or abroad, i.e. outside the Wallonia-Brussels Federation. It must be a training course that is not offered within that Federation.
• Credits: The host institution can issue a certificate of ECTS credits (study points) that count towards your doctoral training.
• Approval: The doctoral college must recognise the programme as appropriate. You must first apply to the college, with the support of your supervisor and, where applicable, your dissertation committee, and include the college’s letter of approval with your funding application.
• Field of study: Open to all subjects.
• Nationality: All nationalities can apply.

How to apply

Please apply as early as possible using the online form. Applications are reviewed quarterly; the deadlines are 15 September, 15 December, 15 March and 15 June.
