Université de Liège - Research Mobility Grants (Flanders)

Benefit

You will receive financial support for a research stay in Flanders, the Dutch-speaking north of Belgium. The stay can last between 2 weeks and 1 years. The grant covers your travel and living expenses whilst you are collaborating with researchers in Flanders. The funding comes from the Heritage Fund (Patrimoine) at the Université de Liège.

• Stay of 1 month to 1 year: up to 1,500 EUR per month, capped at 15,000 EUR, plus one or two return flights.
• Short stay of 2 weeks to 1 month: up to 750 EUR, plus one return flight.
• Fieldwork or information gathering (not lab research): up to 750 EUR per month, capped at 7,500 EUR.

Eligibility

• Your link to ULiège: You are a PhD student, researcher, scientific staff member or professor at the Université de Liège.
• Where you go: You are travelling to Flanders in Belgium to take part in a research collaboration or to attend a scientific conference to which you have been invited.
• Field of study: Any subject.
• Nationality: Any nationality can apply.
• Duration: Your stay will last between 2 weeks and 1 years.

How to apply

Applications are made via ULiège’s ‘Modus’ mobility portal using the form for stays in Flanders. You can apply at any time. A committee reviews applications every three months. We recommend that you apply approximately 6 months before your departure so that you have sufficient time to apply for a visa and to book your travel and accommodation.
