Academia Belgica - Stipendia Academiae Belgicae

Stipendia Academiae Belgicae

You get a free private room with a bathroom at the Academia Belgica in Rome for a research stay of one to three months. The Academia Belgica is the Belgian research centre in Rome. If you are not paid during your stay (no salary, allowance or other grant), you also receive 700 EUR per month towards your costs and a flat 180 EUR for travel between Belgium and Rome. If you keep a salary, allowance or grant while in Rome, you get the free room but not the monthly money. The grant is awarded each year with support from the Scientific Research Fund (FWO) and the Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles. You arrange your own health and accident insurance through your home institution, as it is not covered.
