What the scholarship gives you

You will receive a grant towards studying abroad or an educational trip abroad. The amount of the grant is not fixed; you specify how much you need when you submit your application. Two foundations jointly administer the programme on the Danish island of Langeland: the Th. R. Knudsens Mindefond and the Mortensen Memorial Fund. The money is intended exclusively for a stay or study trip outside Denmark. It does not cover ordinary living costs, books or study materials for a course of study within Denmark. After your trip or course, you must submit a short report describing how it went and what new perspectives it has opened up for you. If you fail to submit the report or do not complete the trip within the specified period, the board may demand repayment of the funds.

Who can apply

• Connection to Langeland: You are a young person from Langeland.
• Where you go: You use the grant for an education or trip abroad, not for studying in Denmark.
• Field of study: Open to all subjects.
• Nationality: All nationalities can apply.
• Priority area: You are given priority if you were born in the former municipality of Tranekær (the area as it existed until 2006) or if your parents live there. Next in line are other young people from Langeland.
• Initiative: It is an advantage if you demonstrate clear ambition and commitment to your trip or study period abroad.
• Financial need: You need financial support.

How to apply

Please complete the application form provided by the municipality of Langeland and email it to the fund as a PDF file, together with all relevant supporting documents attached. The deadline is 31 October each year.
