About this scholarship

What you get

You will receive a one-off grant of approximately 330 EUR towards your training. The exact amount is determined each year by the board, so there is no fixed sum. It depends on how many people apply and how much funding is available. You may apply again in subsequent years. The money will be paid out in the first quarter of the following year by cheque or bank transfer. The grant comes from a small local foundation in Darum, in the municipality of Esbjerg, Denmark, which is run by the parish priest.

Who can apply

  • Where you live: You, or your parents, live in Darum parish (Darum Sogn).
  • Living away to study: For 2025/26, you must live away from home while studying. Investment returns are low this year, so only these students can apply.
  • Study level: You have started further education following your Danish compulsory schooling (Folkeskole), or are about to do so. This includes both academic and vocational training.
  • Field of study: Any field is welcome.
  • Proof of study: Please enclose written confirmation from your school stating that you are currently a pupil.
  • Financial details: Please state your income, assets and debts as shown on your latest tax assessment notice.
  • No automatic right: Meeting the criteria does not in itself guarantee that you will receive funding.

How to apply

Send the completed application form by post, or drop it in the letterbox at the parish house. You cannot apply by email, because documents with a CPR number may not be sent that way. The deadline is 1 November each year. After the deadline, an independent reviewer assesses the applications without seeing the names, then the board decides. Results are published in December in Darum's parish newsletter and on the foundation's website.
