About this scholarship

What you get

You will receive financial support for a stay abroad, which is decided on a case-by-case basis. The foundation does not disclose either the amount or the duration of the support, so each application is assessed individually. The funds may be used for study or other training, for travel (particularly abroad), for a convalescent stay following an illness, or for recreation and leisure activities. Parents living abroad may also receive support to visit their children in Denmark, and children may receive support to travel abroad to visit a parent. The support comes from a private Danish family foundation established in 1970.

Who can apply

  • Family link: You are a relative or descendant of the founder, Dr Johs. Brandt-Jørgensen, or are descended from his grandparents. This is the most important requirement.
  • Proof of family: When submitting your first application, please provide a certified copy of your baptism certificate, as well as documents proving that you are a descendant of the founder’s grandparents.
  • Need: You need support for your studies, training, travel, recovery or a rest and recuperation break.
  • Field of study: All subjects are open.
  • Nationality: Applicants of any nationality may apply, provided they can prove their family connection.

How to apply

There is no online form. Please contact the foundation’s administrative office to request an application form and submit your application directly. The deadline is 15 March.
