Langeland Kommune - Southern Langeland Municipality's Social Scholarship

Benefit

You will receive a one-off cash payment if you live in the municipality of Langeland in Denmark and require financial support. The amount is not fixed in advance. The municipality’s social welfare committee decides how much each applicant will receive. For the 2026 round, a total amount of 70,000 DKK (approximately 9,400 EUR) will be divided amongst the successful applicants. Payment is made in mid-December, which is why the grant is often referred to as a ‘Christmas grant’. This is social assistance provided by the municipality of Langeland, not a student grant. Education costs are just one of several reasons for which you can apply.

Eligibility

• Where you live: You live in the municipality of Langeland.
• Financial need: You need financial support through no fault of your own. For example, you may be living alone, suffering from a chronic illness, having to support a large family, or facing high costs due to an illness or education.
• Field of study: Any subject or degree programme. This funding is not tied to your field of study.
• Nationality: Any nationality can apply, as long as you live in the municipality.

How to apply

Please complete the official application form available at langelandkommune.dk (or request it by telephone from the Citizens’ Service) and describe your situation. The signed form must be received by the local authority by Friday, 23 October 2026. The Social Services Committee will consider all applications at its meeting at the end of November.
