About this scholarship
Benefit
You will receive a one-off grant for a study stay or internship abroad lasting at least 14 days. The Foundation’s Board determines the amount on a case-by-case basis, so it is not fixed in advance. Each year, the Board allocates a total amount averaging around 240,000 DKK (approximately 32,000 EUR) across all grants for business schools, meaning that the total varies from year to year. The grant is intended to provide significant assistance with your travel costs, but does not cover them in full. The Foundation supports three types of stays abroad: a business-focused study visit to a specific school abroad, a work placement in the wholesale or retail sector abroad, or a work placement abroad involving administrative duties within a commercial enterprise.
Eligibility
- School: You are a student on a business-related course at a vocational college in Denmark (erhvervsuddannelse or handelsgymnasium/HHX). Students at business academies, business schools or universities are not eligible to apply.
- Where you go: Your stay abroad focuses on trade, either as study at a named institution or as a commercial or administrative internship.
- Type of trip: You are travelling independently. Group trips are not funded.
- Length: Your stay abroad will last at least 14 days.
- Timing: The trip is yet to take place. Stays that have already taken place are not eligible for funding.
- Nationality: Any nationality can apply.
- What the board weighs: Your grades, the relevance of the trip to your studies, and any special financial, social or health circumstances. Pupils at Rybners School are given priority, and the committee endeavours to distribute the scholarships evenly amongst commercial schools across the country.
How to apply
Applications must be made via the online form, which will not be available until February, and must be submitted by the deadline of 1 March. Your school will then put forward candidates to the committee by 1 April. An assessment panel will evaluate the proposed applications, and the committee usually reaches its decision in May. You will receive a response in May or June.
If you are weighing up other options, our guide Scholarships in Denmark brings together further funding opportunities available to you in Denmark.
