Catalonian College of Social Workers - Dolors Arteman Research Award

What you get

For the best completed research project in the field of social work, you will receive a one-off prize of 6,000 EUR. In a second category, the best proposal for a research project yet to be carried out will be awarded a cash prize of 3,000 EUR. The prize is awarded by the Col·legi Oficial de Treball Social de Catalunya (TSCAT), the professional association of social workers in Catalonia. It is jointly funded by the City Council of l’Hospitalet de Llobregat, the Barcelona Provincial Council and the Ministry of Social Rights of the Catalan Government. It takes place every two years.

Who can apply

• Topic: Your work focuses on social work – for example, how social services are organised, how social workers help families, or how mental health is promoted.
• Type of entry: You may submit either a completed research project (category 6,000 EUR) or a proposal for a research project you wish to carry out (category 3,000 EUR).
• Who counts: University graduates and the general public can register either individually or in teams.
• Nationality: Any nationality can apply.

How to apply

You should submit your research paper or proposal to TSCAT in Barcelona. The next (13.) edition is not yet open for submissions; please therefore check the call for papers before preparing your submission.

How realistic are your chances?

As this is a narrowly defined award in a single field – social work in Catalonia – the number of entries is low compared with open scholarships. If you have sound research findings that are clearly rooted in social work practice, your prospects are good. Only one winner is selected per category in each edition, so quality is the key factor.
