About this scholarship
What you get
You will receive 800 EUR gross per month for one year. The placement may be extended for a second year. You will carry out practical statistical work at the Statistical Institute of Cantabria (ICANE), the public statistics authority for the Spanish region of Cantabria, and learn from its specialist staff. The programme is run and funded by the Cantabrian Government. Places are allocated through a selection process to ensure they go to the best candidates.
Who can apply
- Degree: You hold a university degree (Grado) in economics, business administration and management, statistics and technical sciences, or an equivalent subject area.
- Recent graduate: You completed this degree programme in the academic year 2020/2021 or later.
- Nationality: Any nationality can apply.
- Language: You will need a good command of Spanish, as the work and the entire process are conducted in Spanish.
How to apply
Complete the official application form and submit it online via the Cantabria electronic register or in person in Santander. You have ten working days from the date the call for applications is published in the Official Gazette of Cantabria (Boletín Oficial de Cantabria). The Director of ICANE will decide on the allocation of places.
How realistic are your chances?
Only a handful of places are offered per application round (2 in the last round). You need to have recently completed a degree in specific subject areas, as well as practical knowledge of Spanish, which keeps the number of applicants low. If you meet these requirements exactly and apply within the short ten-day window, your chances are quite good.
