University of Cádiz - Scholarships for UCA Autumn Courses in Algeciras

What you get

You will receive free enrolment during one of the autumn seminars organised by the University of Cádiz in Algeciras, Spain, meaning you do not have to pay any course fees. Each seminar lasts 3 days. The topics change every year and cover various areas, such as law and geopolitics, the circular economy in industry, the history of urban planning and science communication. Each seminar offers 20 places open to the general public, as well as additional places for people who are registered as residents in Algeciras. You can apply for up to 2 seminars per intake.

Who can apply

• Nationality: You are a citizen of an EU country.
• Field of study: Open to all. No specific field of study or qualification is required for this edition.
• Age: No age limit.
• Not yet paid: You have not yet paid the course fee. You cannot apply for a waiver retrospectively.

How to apply

First, register for the course online via the UCA course platform and tick the box marked ‘Scholarship applicant’ (‘solicitante de beca’). Then send an email to the university stating the name of the module and attaching a copy of your ID. The application deadline is 15 November. Places are allocated strictly on a first-come, first-served basis, so it is essential to apply early. There is no interview and no ranking list.

How realistic are your chances?

The only benefit you get is a free place, and the terms and conditions of participation are open to all EU citizens. So the key is to apply at the right time. As 20 places per seminar are allocated on a ‘first come, first served’ basis, your chances are good if you register as soon as the registration period opens and send the email straight away. If you wait too long, the places may already be taken.
