Becas Ikasiker de colaboración

You get a one-off grant of 2,000 EUR or 750 EUR for working alongside a research group in the Basque Country during your studies. The amount depends on the track. Track A runs from 1 January to 30 June 2027 and pays 2,000 EUR. Track B runs over the summer, from 1 June to 30 September 2027, and pays 750 EUR. You spend 6 to 15 hours per week on a research project linked to the core subjects of your degree. The place can be a university group, a basic-research or excellence centre (BERC), a health-research institute (IIS), a cooperative research centre (CIC) or a technology centre of the BRTA network. The award comes from the Basque Government's Department of Science, Universities and Innovation. There are 190 grants in total: up to 150 in Track A and up to 40 in Track B.

Who can apply

• Study level: You are in one of the last two years of a bachelor's degree (Grado or Doble Grado). For Track B, master's students also qualify.
• Progress: In your second-to-last year, you have at most 50% of your credits left. In your final bachelor year, at most 25% left (50% for a master's).
• Enrolment: You are enrolled in 2026-2027 for at least 60 ECTS. Part-time study is allowed in defined cases, for example a disability of 33% or more, family or work responsibilities, or elite-athlete status.
• Grades: You meet the minimum grade average for your field. This ranges from 6.00 (Engineering and Architecture) to 7.00 (Arts and Humanities).
• Residence: You had registered residence in a Basque Country municipality on 31 December 2025.
• Nationality: You hold Spanish nationality or have legal residence in Spain.
• Research place: A research group or centre from the official call has already accepted you.
• No repeat: You have not held an Ikasiker grant in the same track before.

How to apply

You apply online through the Basque Government's e-services. You need an electronic certificate to log in. The application window for 2026-2027 runs from 18 September to 19 October 2026. A committee ranks applicants against each other, mainly on grade average. For university groups, the score is 80% your grades plus 20% the group's rating.

How realistic are your chances?

This award is cut narrowly. You must live in the Basque Country, be near the end of your degree, hit the grade threshold for your field, and already have a research group willing to take you. That last step shrinks the pool a lot, since you need a place secured before you apply. With 190 grants and selection resting largely on your grade average, a well-matched applicant with strong marks and an early application has solid prospects.
