About this scholarship
What you get
You will receive 750 EUR per month for up to nine months to complete an official Master’s degree programme at the University of Valladolid (UVa) in Spain. In addition, the scholarship covers 80% of the tuition fees for 60 credits of your Master’s programme, a return economy-class flight from your home country (up to 1,200 EUR) and your health insurance. All payments are exempt from Spanish income tax. The university is awarding 25 of these scholarships for the academic year 2026/2027.
Who can apply
- Where you go: You are studying on an official Master’s programme at the University of Valladolid in Spain.
- Your degree: You hold a university degree that qualifies you for admission to a Master’s programme in your home country, and you have completed this (including the final examination) before the deadline.
- Nationality and residence: You are a national of a Latin American or Asian country and are resident there. Preference will be given to applicants from Brazil and India.
- Field of study: Any subject.
- Grades: Your average mark is at least 7.0 on the Spanish grading scale ranging from 0 to 10.
- Little time in Spain: Over the last three years, you have not lived in Spain for more than 12 months, and you have never completed a Master’s degree at a Spanish university, nor are you currently studying for one.
- First time: You have not yet received this scholarship.
Academic staff from Latin American or Asian universities who have collaborated with the University of Amsterdam (UVa) over the past five years are also eligible to apply.
How to apply
Register and submit your application online via the University of Amsterdam’s scholarship platform. The application deadline is 26 February 2026 at 11:00 CET. A selection committee will then assess applicants on the basis of their academic achievements, their references and their suitability for the chosen Master’s programme.
How realistic are your chances?
This funding scheme is very narrowly defined. You must be from Latin America or Asia, have an excellent degree, and have spent very little time in Spain to date, meaning that fewer people qualify for it than for open scholarships. With 25 places available and priority given to applicants from Brazil and India, well-suited candidates from these countries have good prospects. Outstanding grades and compelling letters of recommendation are the deciding factors – so prepare these carefully and submit your application well in advance of the deadline.
