UCA Scholarships (Becas UCA)

You will receive financial support amounting to up to about 1,800 EUR, which comprises several components tailored to your situation. The University of Cádiz in Spain awards these scholarships for the academic year 2025–2026. The support may include reimbursement of your tuition fees for the first year of study, as well as a flat-rate travel allowance, the amount of which depends on the distance between your place of residence and the university (from 30 EUR up to 300 EUR, plus up to 250 EUR if you can prove that you do not live with your parents). You may also receive a grant for study materials and a one-off award for academic excellence. The award for academic excellence ranges from 50 EUR to 125 EUR, depending on your grade point average (for a grade point average of 8.00 to 9.50 or higher), and does not require proof of income.

Who can apply

• University: You are enrolled at the University of Cádiz for the academic year 2025–2026.
• Degree level: You are studying for a Bachelor’s degree (Grado) or an official Master’s degree.
• Field of study: Open to all disciplines.
• No earlier degree: You do not yet hold a qualification at the same level or a higher level than the one for which you are applying for funding.
• Nationality: The main target group is Spanish students. EU citizens are eligible for the reduced tuition fees under the same conditions. For the remaining requirements, EU citizens need permanent residence status or a work permit. Non-EU citizens need a regular residence permit, not just a student visa.
• Financial need: Your family income and assets must remain below specified thresholds (for example, 8,500 euros per year for a single-person household, with this threshold increasing in line with family size). The Excellence Award is an exception to this rule and is not subject to any income requirements.
• Grades: For most types of funding, you must have achieved a minimum number of credit points. A very good average mark is required for the Excellence Award.

How to apply

Applications must be submitted online via the university’s platform between 8 and 30 January 2026. The university will review the applications, publish a provisional decision and then announce a final decision by 31 July 2026.

How realistic are your chances?

These scholarships are open exclusively to students who are already enrolled at the University of Cádiz; the pool of applicants is therefore limited to this group and not to the whole country. If you clearly meet the income thresholds and academic performance requirements, your chances are good. As the total budget is limited, the amounts may be reduced on a pro rata basis if a large number of students qualify. It is therefore worth submitting your application within the January application window.
