UAO CEU Ordinary Grants

You will receive a means-tested grant of up to 3,000 EUR per year. This will be deducted from your tuition fees and will not be paid out in cash. There are five bands: 1,000, 1,500, 2,000, 2,500 and 3,000 EUR. The band you are allocated depends on your family’s income per household member. The grant is valid for one year and may be renewed. It is awarded by the Universitat Abat Oliba CEU (UAO CEU), a private, non-profit university in Barcelona, as part of its financial support programme for undergraduate students.

Who can apply

• University: You are studying at the UAO CEU in Barcelona or have been admitted there to a Bachelor’s degree programme.
• Field of study: Every degree course counts.
• Nationality: Any nationality can apply.
• Financial need: The amount depends on your family’s income. You must provide evidence of this in the form of a Spanish income tax certificate (IRPF) or an equivalent proof of income.
• To renew: You must have passed 100% of the credits you enrolled in during the previous year.
• Service hours: You may be required to work a certain number of hours at a university. The higher your scholarship, the more hours you will have to work.

How to apply

First, start by completing your application process on the university’s portal for prospective students. You should then submit your application for funding via the CEU intranet. A funding committee will assess each application individually and notify you of its decision in writing or by email.

How realistic are your chances?

This scholarship is open exclusively to students at a specific university and is awarded primarily on the basis of family income. Eligibility is restricted to those who have already chosen to study at UAO CEU. If you genuinely need the support and can provide proof of your family’s income, your chances are good. The exact amount depends on the university’s annual budget and how your income compares with that of other applicants.
