Enrolment Grants for Master's students at UC3M

You will receive a fixed grant towards the tuition fees for a Master’s programme at Carlos III University in Madrid (UC3M) amounting to around 2,160 EUR for one academic year. The exact amount is determined for each Master’s programme and each call for applications. Students from non-EU countries generally receive a higher amount than EU students, as their tuition fees are higher. The grant covers tuition fees only, not living costs. It is funded by the university’s Faculty of Postgraduate Studies. If your Master’s programme comprises more than 60 ECTS credits (roughly a two-year programme), you may reapply for the following year.

Who can apply

• Level: You are a new student starting an official Master’s degree programme at UC3M.
• Admission first: You have already applied for the Master’s programme and paid the application fee. This is a prerequisite before you can apply for the scholarship.
• Field of study: Your degree programme must be listed in the call for applications under which you are applying. The general call for applications covers most UC3M Master’s programmes; some calls are aimed at specific degree programmes such as legal practice, economics or engineering.
• Nationality: The general call for applications is open to students of all nationalities, both from the EU and from non-EU countries.
• Selection basis: Places on the course are allocated on the basis of your grades and your financial and personal circumstances, which you should outline in a personal statement.

How to apply

First, apply for admission to the Master’s programme. Then register via the UC3M scholarship portal and submit your scholarship application there, together with a signed personal statement. The application deadline for the general call for applications runs from December to 31 May. Decisions will be announced in several rounds throughout the year.

How realistic are your chances?

Your chances depend on your specific Master’s programme, as only a limited number of scholarships are awarded for particular programmes under each call for applications. If you have good grades and can provide clear evidence of your financial need, you stand a good chance, particularly in the more targeted calls for applications. It is advantageous to apply early, as applications submitted early are reviewed first.
