About this scholarship

UCJC Scholarship for students with disabilities

At Camilo José Cela University (UCJC) in Madrid, Spain, you will receive a discount on your tuition fees and enrolled credits. The amount of support depends on the degree of your officially recognised disability:

  • 15% discount, if your disability is classified as 33% to 49%.
  • 25% discount, provided that the rating is 50% or higher.

You may combine this funding with other UCJC scholarships or grants, up to a maximum of two per academic year and subject to the general terms and conditions. The aim is to make it easier for students with disabilities to access higher education.

Who can apply

  • Where you study: You have been admitted to an official degree programme, a Master’s programme or a vocational training course at UCJC in Madrid.
  • Disability: You have a legally recognised disability of 33% or more, as certified by the relevant authority.
  • Field of study: Open to all degree programmes. For the degree programmes in dentistry, medicine and nursing, the discount applies only if the relevant programme regulations permit it.
  • Nationality: Any nationality can apply.
  • Study rules: You will continue to pass your modules in accordance with the UCJC’s regulations on academic progress.

How to apply

First, apply for admission to UCJC via the standard admissions procedure. You should then apply for the scholarship online via the MyUCJC platform and upload your disability certificate. The standard deadline is 31 October of the year in which your studies begin. If you are admitted later, you will have 15 days from the date of your admission confirmation. For degree programmes starting in the second semester, applications are accepted until the start of the programme. You must reapply each year and pass all the credits you have taken in order to retain the full discount.

How realistic are your chances?

This is not an award granted as part of a selection process. It is a fixed tuition fee discount for all students at the UCJC with a recognised disability of 33% or higher. If you have been admitted and hold a valid disability certificate, you are entitled to this. The amount of the discount depends on the degree of your disability and not on a ranking list drawn up by a selection panel in comparison with other applicants.
