About this scholarship

CNMC training scholarship

You receive 1,240 EUR gross per month for 12 months, from January to December 2027. You also get registration with Spain's social security system and a certificate of completion at the end. The scholarship pays you to train inside the Comision Nacional de los Mercados y la Competencia (CNMC), Spain's independent regulator for competition and markets such as energy, telecommunications, transport and post. You work in its different departments, guided by experienced professionals. There are 14 places in total: 6 in economics or business, 6 in law, 1 in engineering (including maths, statistics and physics) and 1 in journalism. Most placements are in Madrid, with some economics and engineering places in Barcelona.

Who can apply

  • Degree: You hold a university degree in law, economics, business, engineering, journalism or a related subject linked to the sectors the CNMC regulates.
  • How recent: You finished that degree within the five years before the call was published, or you will have it before the application deadline.
  • Languages: You have English skills; level B2 or higher is a plus.
  • No prior CNMC scholarship: You have not held a CNMC scholarship before. One exception: it counts if a past one lasted under 6 months for reasons outside your control. You also have not turned down an awarded CNMC scholarship in the last two calls.
  • Clean record: You are up to date with your tax and social security payments and are not barred from receiving public grants.

How to apply

You apply online through the CNMC's Sede Electronica (tramites.cnmc.gob.es) between 28 September 2026 and 19 October 2026. You log in with a digital certificate, electronic DNI or Cl@ve. Selection is competitive and scored out of 100 points based on your merits. The committee may also invite you to an interview.

How realistic are your chances?

This call offers 14 places: 6 for economics or business, 6 for law, 1 for engineering and 1 for journalism. The number of applicants is not published, so competition is tightest in the single-place engineering and journalism fields.
