About this scholarship

What the IE Alumni Scholarship gives you

You will receive 4,500 EUR as a grant towards your tuition fees for one year of your Bachelor’s degree at IE University in Spain. The scholarship is funded by IE University and the IE Foundation and is aimed at students who are members of the IE alumni community (former IE students). Provided you pass all your exams each year, the scholarship may be renewed for the remaining years of a four- or five-year degree programme. The funding covers tuition fees only; it does not cover rent, meals or any other costs.

Who can apply

  • Degree level: You are starting a Bachelor’s degree at IE University.
  • Where you study: You’re studying at IE University in Segovia, Spain.
  • Field of study: Every Bachelor’s degree programme.
  • Nationality: Any nationality can apply.
  • Timing: You must apply before you start your degree. If you are already enrolled, you cannot apply.
  • Merit and need: The selection process takes into account both your grades and your financial circumstances.
  • No double benefit: You cannot receive this award and the ‘Honours Distinction’ award in the same year. You will retain either one or the other.

How to apply

Apply for financial support as soon as you have been admitted to IE University – and always before the start of your degree programme – using IE’s online financial support form. Meeting the minimum requirements does not guarantee approval. The process is competitive, and decisions are final.

How realistic are your chances?

The IE makes it clear that the process for awarding grants is highly competitive and that meeting the criteria alone does not guarantee a successful application. As this funding is aimed at applicants who have a connection to the IE alumni community, the pool of applicants is smaller than for open scholarships, which is an advantage for well-suited candidates. If you have good grades, a genuine connection to the alumni, can demonstrate a genuine financial need, and apply before you start your studies, your chances are good.
