About this scholarship

Dean's Award (IE University)

You will receive 50% of your tuition fees covered for a Master’s programme at IE University in Spain. This is a one-off reduction in your tuition fees, not a monthly payment, and the amount depends on which Master’s programme you enrol in. This is the most attractive merit-based scholarship available at IE University. Each of the five faculties (Architecture and Design, Business, Global and Public Affairs, Humanities and Technology, and Law) offers its own version, with only one or two recipients selected per year group.

Who can apply

  • Degree level: You have been admitted to a full-time Master’s programme at IE University or are applying for a place on this programme.
  • Field of study: Open to all Master’s programmes; each of the five faculties awards its own prize.
  • Nationality: Applicants of all nationalities from all over the world are welcome to apply.
  • Grades: You have achieved excellent results, with an average mark of around 3.5/4.0, 3.7/5.0 or 7.5/10, or an equivalent result.
  • Language: For English-taught degree programmes, a TOEFL score of over 100 or the Cambridge Certificate C1 or higher is required. For Spanish-taught degree programmes, Spanish language skills at level C1 are required. Knowledge of a second or third language is an advantage.
  • Profile: You stand out in the admissions process and demonstrate entrepreneurial ambition, an interest in the humanities and a sense of social responsibility throughout your studies or professional career.
  • Financial need: This is not a prerequisite for victory. However, where two candidates are equally strong, preference is given to the one who is more in need of financial support.

How to apply

First, apply for admission to your chosen Master’s programme. You should then submit an application for student finance via the IE’s online platform. Applications are assessed in the order in which they are received; you should therefore apply as early as possible and, in any case, before the start of your programme. A decision is usually made within one to three weeks of admission.

How realistic are your chances?

This is the highest honour awarded at any IE university, and only one or two are awarded per year group. Competition is fierce, and grades alone do not determine success. You need not only top academic results, but also a profile that clearly reflects IE’s values – entrepreneurship and social responsibility. If you meet these requirements well and can also demonstrate financial need, you’ll have the best chance of success by applying early.
