About this scholarship

Benefit

You will receive a one-off grant to cover your enrolment fees (the fee you pay to register for your courses) at University of Cantabria in Santander, Spain. The amount of the grant is determined on a case-by-case basis according to your circumstances, so there is no fixed amount. The University’s Social Council administers the fund. It is intended for students who, during their studies, are affected by a sudden drop in income or another serious financial problem.

Eligibility

  • University: You are enrolled at the University of Cantabria.
  • Level: You are studying for a Bachelor’s degree (Grado) or a Master’s degree (Posgrado).
  • Field of study: Any subject.
  • Nationality: Any nationality can apply.
  • Financial need: Your household income is below the threshold set by the fund, and you can provide evidence of financial hardship.
  • Grades: You meet the academic requirements set out for the scholarship.
  • No double funding: You are not currently receiving a scholarship from a federal ministry (MEC) or any other funding that cannot be combined with this one.

How to apply

Applications must be submitted via the official call for applications (convocatoria) published by the Social Council of the University of Cantabria. The deadline for applications is 24 January.

How realistic are your chances?

This grant is aimed at students from Cantabria who find themselves in genuine financial hardship, meaning there are fewer applicants competing for it than for open scholarships. In a previous round of awards, the funding available was even sufficient to cover all eligible applicants, which is a positive sign. If you clearly meet the income and academic requirements and can provide evidence of your circumstances, your chances are good.
