About this scholarship

International Mobility Grants (MOBINT-MIF)

Whilst studying abroad, you will receive 200 EUR per month to cover your living costs for up to 6 months (up to a total of 1,200 EUR). If you are studying at a higher education institution in the Occitanie region of France under Modality A, you will also receive a one-off supplement of 600 EUR. The grant is awarded by AGAUR, the Catalan Regional Government’s Agency for Higher Education and Research Funding. It covers part of the costs of a study period abroad that counts towards your degree.

Who can apply

  • University: You are studying at a university in Catalonia and were enrolled for at least one credit point in the year 2024–2025.
  • Degree level: You are enrolled on an official Bachelor’s or Master’s degree programme.
  • Your stay abroad: You have been selected for an in-person exchange abroad that gives academic credit for your degree. This covers Erasmus+ and associated countries (Modality A), the rest of the world (Modality B), or the teacher-training programme for infant and primary education (Modality C, bachelor's students only).
  • Credits done: At the time of your application, you will have earned at least 60 ECTS credits. This does not apply if your degree programme requires a period of study abroad.
  • Grades: For Modalities A and B, you need an average of at least 5.70 (engineering) or 6.30 (all other fields). If you study a master's, your bachelor's average counts.
  • Language: You hold a B2 certificate in English, French, German or Italian, or in the language of instruction at your host university, if this differs.
  • Nationality: You are a Spanish national or an EU citizen. If you are not an EU citizen, you may submit an application provided that you were in possession of a Spanish residence permit on 31 December 2024.
  • Once only: You can only receive this grant once during your studies.

How to apply

Applications must be submitted online via the “Tramits” portal of the Generalitat de Catalunya. For the 2025–2026 cycle, the application window ran from 31 October to 28 November 2025, 14:00 (Barcelona local time). The next call for applications for 2026-2027 is expected to follow the same pattern.

How realistic are your chances?

Meeting the eligibility criteria does not in itself guarantee a grant. All valid applications are assessed on the basis of academic grades, language proficiency and the number of credits earned, and are then ranked. Grants are awarded in order of ranking until the budget is exhausted. Funding is only available to students at Catalan universities who have already been selected for an exchange programme, so the pool of applicants is limited. A good grade point average and a high level of language proficiency give you a real chance of success. Good grades are the most important factor, as academic criteria account for the majority of the points.
