Agreements with Municipalities and Secondary Schools scholarship

You will receive a grant of tuition fee reduction of up to 50% towards your studies at Antonio de Nebrija University in Madrid, Spain. The exact percentage depends on the agreement that your local authority or secondary school has entered into with the university. The discount applies exclusively to tuition fees. It does not apply to booking fees, enrolment fees or any other costs. It is valid for one academic year (12 months) and may be extended provided you continue to meet the eligibility criteria. The scholarship is awarded by Nebrija University in conjunction with the Antonio de Nebrija Foundation.

Who can apply

• Study phase: You are starting your first year of a Bachelor’s (Grado) or Master’s degree programme. You must receive the scholarship in your first year. It is not possible to join the scheme at a later stage.
• Your town or school: Either you are officially registered (empadronado) in one of the participating councils in northwest Madrid (such as Alcobendas, Las Rozas, Majadahonda, Pozuelo de Alarcón, Collado Villalba, Galapagar or Torrelodones) before the call opens, or your secondary school has an agreement with the university and signs or certifies your application.
• Field of study: Most degree programmes are eligible for funding. Exceptions include the Bachelor’s degree programme in Medicine, the Master’s degree programme in secondary school teacher training, and degree programmes at affiliated centres or those run jointly with other institutions.
• Grades: You must pass all your modules and achieve an overall average mark of at least 7.0, unless otherwise specified in your individual agreement.
• Financial need: Your family income per household member must not exceed 20,000 EUR, unless otherwise specified in your agreement.
• Nationality: All nationalities can apply.

How to apply

First, ensure you are admitted to the university. You should then submit the scholarship application form, which you can download from the university’s website. For first-year students, the application will be processed as part of the admissions procedure. If you are already studying and wish to renew your scholarship, the call for applications will be published between 1 and 15 June.

How realistic are your chances?

This grant is strictly limited. You must apply as a first-year student and either live in one of the listed localities in north-west Madrid or be a pupil at a school with which an agreement is in place. As a result, the number of eligible applicants is small. If you clearly meet these local eligibility criteria and satisfy the grade and income thresholds, your chances are good. Please note that the final percentage and the available funding are determined by your individual agreement.
