Iberoamerican Mobility Scholarships

You will receive a fixed grant of 1,500 EUR for a semester abroad. Your host university will also waive your tuition fees, although minor charges may apply for non-academic services. The stay lasts from 3 to 5 months at a university in Latin America, Spain or Portugal that has an exchange agreement with the University of Zaragoza. Approximately 80% of the amount will be paid upon your arrival, with the remainder paid upon completion of your stay. The University of Zaragoza runs the programme with financial support from Banco Santander, and 24 scholarships are awarded per round. You can combine this scholarship with the additional scholarships usually offered by the Regional Government of Aragon.

Who can apply

• Where you study: You are enrolled on an official Bachelor’s degree programme (Grado) at the University of Zaragoza. Master’s and PhD students are not eligible to apply.
• Credits done: By the end of the previous academic year, you had earned at least 60 ECTS credits. You also still have enough credits to earn between 24 and 30 ECTS credits during your stay.
• Grades: Your grade average is above 5.0 on a scale from 0 to 10.
• Field of study: Open to all subjects, as long as your host university has an agreement covering your area.
• Nationality: Applicants of any nationality are welcome to apply. The key requirement is that you are a student in Zaragoza.
• Previous exchanges: You may also apply if you have already taken part in an exchange programme. Priority will be given to students who have never previously taken part in this Ibero-American programme.

How to apply

Apply online via the Secretaría Virtual and register on the Banco Santander scholarship platform under ‘Movilidad Internacional No Erasmus 2026’. Both steps must be completed by 16 March 2026. You must then submit the signed form via the university’s online portal by 17 March 2026. You may list up to three host universities in order of preference. Selection is made on a competitive basis and is primarily based on your weighted average mark. The selection committee may also invite you to an interview.

How realistic are your chances?

This scholarship is open exclusively to Bachelor’s students who are already enrolled at the University of Zaragoza, meaning that the pool of applicants is limited from the outset; 24 places are offered per round. Selection is based primarily on academic results, so a good grade point average above the minimum threshold of 5.0 is definitely an advantage. If you have not yet taken part in this programme and are ahead of schedule with your credits, your chances are good.
