Santander Scholarship | Academic Excellence 360º

You get a one-off payment of 12,000 EUR for the 2025-26 academic year. The Universitat Ramon Llull (URL) in Barcelona awards one scholarship of this size, funded through its partnership with Banco Santander. It rewards both strong grades and real social involvement during your degree. You can hold this award alongside other similar grants, but you can only receive it once. The payment is taxed under the applicable rules.

Who can apply

• Where you study: You are enrolled at the Universitat Ramon Llull (URL) in the 2025-26 academic year.
• Study phase: You are in the final year of a bachelor's degree (grau).
• Progress: You have passed at least 80% of the credits needed to finish your degree, counting up to and including the February 2026 exam period.
• Grades: Your transcript shows an average of at least 8.50 on a 0-10 scale.
• Social engagement: You have taken an active part during your studies in student representation, volunteering, work with social organisations or other community involvement.
• Field of study: Open to all subjects.

How to apply

Register on the Santander Open Academy platform and also fill in URL's own online form. Attach your academic transcript, a CV and a motivation letter in Catalan, Spanish or English. The deadline was 7 May 2026, with a provisional decision on 16 June 2026. A selection committee chaired by URL's rector picks the winner based on your grades, CV and motivation letter.

How realistic are your chances?

This is a single award for one URL student, so competition is real. But the criteria narrow the field sharply: you need a final-year place, an 8.50+ average and a documented record of social engagement. If you clearly meet all three, your prospects are decent, since few students combine top grades with the social involvement the committee weights. A strong, well-evidenced motivation letter and CV are what set applicants apart.
