Mobility grant for the PPE degree at UPF

You will receive a one-off payment of 1,000 EUR to cover the costs of the compulsory period of study abroad included in the ‘Philosophy, Politics and Economics’ (PPE) Bachelor’s degree programme. As part of this joint degree programme, you will spend your first year of study at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF) in Barcelona and your second year at partner universities in Madrid. This entails additional travel and living costs. Each year, four scholarships worth 1,000 EUR are awarded, jointly funded by the UPF and the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. You will receive the amount as a one-off payment within three months of the final decision.

Who can apply

• Degree: You are enrolled on the Bachelor’s degree programme in Philosophy, Politics and Economics (PPE).
• How you got in: You have been admitted to the university under the Catalan pre-enrolment procedure.
• Where you study: You are in your first year at UPF and will continue with the same degree programme in your second year.
• Nationality: You are a national of an EU Member State. If you are not an EU citizen, you must provide proof of lawful residence in Spain.
• No prior degree: You do not yet hold a university degree at Bachelor’s level or higher, and do not yet meet the entry requirements.
• Grades: Selection is based on your average mark in the PPE. You will be awarded additional points if you receive a general state scholarship, have a disability of 33% or more, or are a victim of gender-based violence.

How to apply

Applications must be submitted via the UPF online portal using the standard electronic application form. You will need a recognised electronic ID (a recognised digital identity for online registration). For the 2026–2027 cycle, the application period runs from 8 June to 31 July 2026 at 12:00 midday. A committee will rank applicants according to their scores and publish the results on the UPF scholarship page.

How realistic are your chances?

This scholarship is very selective. Only students on the PPE programme at UPF who have been admitted via the Catalan pre-enrolment process are eligible to apply, so the pool of eligible candidates is small. As only four scholarships are awarded each year, your chances depend mainly on your grade point average compared to that of your fellow students. Good academic performance and any bonus points will put you in a strong position.
